What is a Conclave?
Conclave is the biggest and best Scouting event of the entire year, and it's something that you don't want to miss!
Over 250 Arrowman gather from all parts of Section W1-B to attend the yearly Section Conclave. Lodges from the same area are grouped into one or more sections, the primary purpose of which is to organize an annual gathering of all lodges in the section at a conclave, or weekend gathering at a camp, for training, inter-lodge competitions, and fellowship. The Lodges in our Section include Nanuk from Alaska, Sikhs Mox Lamonti, T'Kope Kwiskwis and Nisqually from Washington and Achpateuny from the Far East Council. This year's Conclave is Camp Fire Mountain, a beautiful Camp located within the Mount Baker Council in Northwest Washington State.
Each section annually elects youths as section chief, section vice-chief, and section secretary.
Here's what you need to know Everyone's trip to Conclave will be different. We have prepared this information to help you plan your trip to Camp Fire Mountain. If you have any questions, please contact your Chapter, Lodge Chief or Section Leadership.
When is Conclave?
Tour Permits
Download Local Tour Permit Application (<500 miles) or National Tour Permit Application (more than 500 miles). When
should I arrive, when can I leave? We understand that for those with day-long drives, that they want to leave as soon as possible on Sunday. While we cannot stop you from leaving, we kindly ask that you please not plan on leaving until 11:30 AM at the earliest. The section business meeting, where the next Section Chief is selected, will begin at 9:15 AM. This is a chance for your youth members to vote on who will represent them as the person who will plan their next Conclave and also represent them as one of the 47 youth who run the National Order of Arrow program. It is important that the youth that travel with you be able to be there. Thank you.
What are the Lodging
arrangements?
The weather is usually very nice for our Conclave, however, it has rained at Camp Fire Mountain before. Plan on it anyway. The highs average from the mid 60's to low 70's, with sunny skies. Lows can get down to the low 40's. Please plan accordingly, and be sure to check the weather report prior to your departure.
Activities and Events At the Conclave, you'll find many different activities and events to keep you busy from the moment you arrive on Friday evening until you depart on Sunday morning. In the morning, you can take part in training opportunities in many different fields that can help your lodge. These include Keys to Brotherhood conversion, the Induction Process/Principles, Ceremony Evaluator Training, Costuming among others. In addition to these lodge program-based cells, there will also be skill-oriented cells on Leave No Trace and Dutch Oven Cooking. You will have an opportunity to earn an Associate, Bachelor's, Masters or Doctorate Degree in the Teaquan Wask University. To learn more about the Area 1 University System click on this link: In the afternoon, get ready for inter-lodge competitions ranging from ceremonies to volleyball. If you're feeling a little less competitive, you can always watch these competitions, check out the OA Museum, trade patches, climb the rock wall or take a tour around the Lake. This is just a small sample of the many activities in which you can participate. No Arrowmen should be bored with so much going on at the conclave. What should I know about the program so I can prepare? We have a few events planned which you need to prepare for prior to Conclave. They are: * Ceremonies Evaluations * Training * Lodge Displays
Ceremonies Evaluations require the participants to bring their costumes or regalia and also require lots of practice.
Training courses need a pen or pencil and a notebook brought by all participants.
Lodge Displays should be
prepared and a request for table space should be sent to the Service
Council via your Lodge Chief. There is lots to do at Conclave. Fun for everyone, no matter what their age.
